I've been trying to back into reading and so far I am doing a good job. I've read almost every night for the past few weeks and am getting close to finishing my book. It has been suggested that I read the Twilight series. I am not sure though. Part of me really wants to read classic novels, you know the ones "you should read". They're the ones on the required reading list for school. Anyway I guess I'll decide what to do once I'm done with my current selection. For now, I'm off to check facebook, read a bit and then bed.

HI, ART5Y!
You may think I'm replying to this particular blog to get you to read my blognovel.
Well, even though I think it would be a great idea for you, I'm not going to do that.
Instead I wanted to give you some advice. I've been in those shoes; thinking that I have to read something "important," or that I should read something "great." The bottom line is... READ. Read what you love! You wouldn't watch a TV show just because it has high ratings, would you, or because it was on the cover of the Channel Guide?
If you want to be a well-rounded reader, here's another tip for you: Read something you like. Check out the comments on the back cover by other authors. For example, I like Stephen King. Stephen King had a great comment endorsing a book by Dean Koontz. Dean Koontz recommended Richard Laymon, Richard Laymon commented on Jeff Long, and so on. Before long you'll find yourself reading WAY off the charts in unrelated genres, and you might even find little-known authors you've grown attached to.
I've got plenty of books if you ever want to borrow some. Or, you can just read LIFE IN HEAVEN, A BLOGNOVEL BY MICHAEL RIGG, FOUND AT WWW.MICHAELRIGG.COM. Tell your friends!
But seriously... give it a shot.
And don't bother with "the classics." Modern critics will all agree: Most of them suck.
PS - I think I'd like to read Twilight too. I'm curious to see what revived vampires as the "in thing." I thought Anne Rice killed the subject decades ago.
